Heartless
Through excruciating pain, death of the Old is necessary for the New to surface. The one last thing left to cling onto finally leaves. All that's left is the empty carcass of who we once were.
Heartless is my genesis 1/1 digital art piece. It explores the theme of death-rebirth, by drawing from my personal experience.
It depicts the deep emotional shock that comes with loss, and the inevitable death of one's identity as a result of having allocated a great portion of who we are into something else. Be it a person, career, worldly possessions, status, religious belief, etc.
It intends to express the need of letting go of emotional attachment to the old self, in order to survive trauma through a metaphorical death and rebirth, to eventually emerge a stronger, better version of oneself.
